Finding Your Stride

Celebrating National Senior Health & Fitness Day at Laurel Circle

If anyone still thinks senior living is all about slowing down, they haven’t spent a week at Laurel Circle.

National Senior Health & Fitness Day 2026 was one for the books for Laurel Circle! From an exciting evening at the ballpark to high-energy fitness classes, our Members spent the week embracing wellness, staying active, and proving that age is just a number!

Taking Me Out to the Ballgame

We kicked off our celebration with an unforgettable community trip to the ballpark! Members headed out to cheer on the Somerset Patriots, the Double-A affiliate of the New York Yankees.

It was the perfect evening spent under the lights with friends. Between singing along to stadium classics, cheering on the home team, and treating ourselves to some delicious ballpark ice cream, it was an evening filled with great conversation, fresh air, and wonderful memories.

A Surprise Step Class with Local Flair

At Laurel Circle, the energy stayed high as we officially launched National Senior Health & Fitness Day and our annual Spring Step It Up Challenge with a surprise Step Aerobics class!

The enthusiasm in the room was contagious, especially when our very own Member and resident dance instructor, Dan, brought his signature flair to the workout. If you’ve ever attended Dan’s popular weekly line dancing classes, you already know he never misses a chance to get everyone laughing and moving to the beat.

The Spring Step It Up Challenge Is On!

The fun certainly didn’t stop with a single fitness class. Throughout the week, Members have been finding creative, high-energy ways to rack up their daily steps as part of the Spring Step It Up Challenge.

The campus has been buzzing with a /sense of motivation and friendly competition. Just a few ways our Members are hitting their goals include:

  • Taking extra scenic laps around our beautiful campus trails.
  • Logging dedicated workout time on the NuStep machines in the fitness center.
  • Stepping together in group fitness sessions.

It has been incredible to watch our community come together to support each other’s health goals. These events are a daily reminder that our community is all about trying new things and living life to the absolute fullest.
